Backup is based on the GFS (Grandfather–Father–Son) retention method for maintaining hierarchical restore points. GFS method describes a rotation scheme whereby a daily backup (the son), a weekly backup (the father) and a monthly backup (the grandfather) are created to maintain a hierarchical backup strategy.
To create an instant backup, use the buttons:
- Create Full Backup: This backup can be used to recreate a new Server. The User Interface is unreachable for approximately 2 up to 5 minutes, monitoring will be proceeded
- Create Small Backup: Only configuration settings will be saved
Specify the following back up settings here:
•Backup Directory : The directory where the backups are saved, the directory has to exist.
•Daily Backup: How to backup each day
•Weekly Backup: How to backup each week
•Monthly Backup: How to backup each month
•Retention: Choose how many backups to keep
•Notify When Backup Fails: Choose if you want to get notified when there are failures
•Notify When Completed: Choose if you want to get notified when backup is succeeded
